Adding a Twinkle to Your Winter Plans

Start the new year off right in wine country, and pair your wine tasting adventures with some sparkling . . . visuals. Since 2017, the Napa Lighted Art Festival has added something special to the already magical winter months in the valley.

Make sure to check out the festival’s new installations running from January 21st to February 19th. It’s a family-friendly event that celebrates and showcases light technologies as a growing art medium. Easily accessible from the Napa River Inn’s front door, all you need is to grab your jacket and be amazed by the free walkable route through the streets of downtown, exploring 10 different art installations illuminated along the way.

Placements this year include large-scale sculpture, intricate imagery projected onto historic city buildings, and even interactive experiences such as the Lantern Parade. The parade begins at 6:30 pm on February 11th at Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street. This is a must-see. The parade is a half-mile loop where community members and visitors alike create and showcase their own lantern concepts. Put your artist hat on and get your imagination going!
