  • Napa Valley Book Fest Makes its Debut

    One day event will celebrate readers, writers, books and wine

    Readers and writers are invited to the first Napa Valley book festival on Saturday, October 7, 2017. In partnership with Litquake, the afternoon’s event will feature conversations with authors, book signings, a showcase of local authors and a wine and cheese reception.


    3pm “Wine and Words”

    Over a glass of wine in Napa Valley, Heather Young (The Lost Girls) reads from her book and discusses its remote lakeside location, the dark secrets that haunt it and the “lost girls” who populate it. In conversation with Lori Narlock.


    4pm “Old World Whine”

    Andy Demsky (Unleash Your Inner Tudor by Henry VIII) shares his experience developing a book that grew out of his humorous twitter account for Henry VIII that has reached more than 70,000 followers.


    4:30pm “Writing to Work”

    Colleagues and friends, Angela Pneuman (Lay it on My Heart and Home Remedies) and Malena Watrous (If You Follow Me and Sparked) read from their books and discuss how their daytime jobs teaching writing, running a writers’ conference, reviewing books, and so much more inspires and impacts the stories they tell..


    5:30pm “Readers and Writers Reception”

    Meet local authors, browse books, sip wine and savor a late afternoon gathering in Napa Valley during harvest.
