Napa Valley Book Fest Makes its Debut
One day event will celebrate readers, writers, books and wine
Readers and writers are invited to the first Napa Valley book festival on Saturday, October 7, 2017. In partnership with Litquake, the afternoonâs event will feature conversations with authors, book signings, a showcase of local authors and a wine and cheese reception.
3pm âWine and Wordsâ
Over a glass of wine in Napa Valley, Heather Young (The Lost Girls) reads from her book and discusses its remote lakeside location, the dark secrets that haunt it and the âlost girlsâ who populate it. In conversation with Lori Narlock.
4pm âOld World Whineâ
Andy Demsky (Unleash Your Inner Tudor by Henry VIII) shares his experience developing a book that grew out of his humorous twitter account for Henry VIII that has reached more than 70,000 followers.
4:30pm âWriting to Workâ
Colleagues and friends, Angela Pneuman (Lay it on My Heart and Home Remedies) and Malena Watrous (If You Follow Me and Sparked) read from their books and discuss how their daytime jobs teaching writing, running a writersâ conference, reviewing books, and so much more inspires and impacts the stories they tell..
5:30pm âReaders and Writers Receptionâ
Meet local authors, browse books, sip wine and savor a late afternoon gathering in Napa Valley during harvest.
