Q: Do we need to make attraction reservations in advance?

A: Yes, you should make your spa, restaurant and winery reservations as soon as you make your hotel reservation. You may email our concierge at concierge@napariverinn.com or call 707-251-8500.

Q: How far is the hotel from the wineries?

A: The Napa River Inn is located in downtown Napa, walking distance from 6 different wine tasting bars. Wineries start about a 5 minute drive away.

Q: We have several people traveling together, is it possible to reserve all in the same building?
A: Yes, you may request to be located all together. However, if people are booking different types of rooms they may not be available in the same building.

Q: Do you need reservations at all the wineries in order to visit there?

A: Not all of the wineries require reservations, though some do. It is best to check with the Concierge first to see if the wineries that you would like to visit do require reservations in advance.

Q: Should I make my dinner reservations in advance?

A: It is best to make your dinner reservations in advance. This way you will guarantee the restaurant and the time that you are looking for. Some restaurants can sell out months in advance. Weekends and summer are always the busiest and at that time we highly recommend to make reservations at least one month in advance. It is much easier to walk in for a reservation in winter and on weekdays, but you just never know! You can contact the Concierge at any time to help you make these reservations.

Q: I would like to dine at the French Laundry. When and how do I make this reservation?

A: The French Laundry has a very intimate dining room of only 17 tables. The average dining time is 3-4 hours per table. Reservations are in very high demand as The French Laundry has received global recognition for its award-winning cuisine and service. Reservations are accepted two months in advance to the date. Reservations for parties of 8 guests or more are accepted up to one year in advance. It is not impossible to get into the French Laundry. If you are interested in dining there, please contact the Concierge at least 70 days prior to the date you would like to dine and she will do her very best in reserving a table for you.

Q: Should I have a transportation company escort me around the valley or should I drive myself?

A: There are several options of transportation available to you for visiting the Napa Valley. You most definitely can drive yourself around the valley and our Concierge would be happy to provide a map and directions for you. Our recommendation would be a limousine, town car or vehicle of your choice to transport you about the valley due to the consumption of alcohol during wine tasting, and also for the relaxation and enjoyment of not worrying about directions or getting lost. Plus all of the drivers that we recommend are highly educated about the area as well as the wineries and wines, and can be very helpful throughout your day. We would also be happy to assist you in booking these reservations, and we highly recommend reserving them in advance. Any assistance regarding rental cars, taxi cabs, bus rentals, winery shuttles or other forms of transportation can received through our Concierge also.

Q: Do I need a petsitter for my pet? Where would I find one?

A: We know that your Sparky or Fluffy are all very well behaved pets, but for their best interest we do not allow your pets to be left in your room unattended. So if you are planning to go out for the evening we would be happy to provide you with some information on petsitters that we highly recommend. They are happy to either come to your room or to have your pet stay with them. They do prefer to have proper advanced notice, so please contact our Concierge ahead of time.

Q: What type of weather should I be prepared for in Napa Valley?

A: The Napa Valley over all has fairly mild weather. If you are planning to visit in the summer, you can generally expect around 80 to upper 90 degrees for during the day and in the 50's at night. The fall months are a little more inconsistent, during the day it can range from the low 80's to mid 60's and the night can get to the 40's and 50's. For this season layers of clothing is best. For the winter season the daytime is usually in the 50 degree range and during the night it usually gets to the low 30's. We never have any snow fall, but when it rains, it usually rains pretty hard. The springtime generally consists of temperatures in the mid 60's and 70's during the day and in the 40 degree range at night.

Q: I would like to dine on the Napa Valley Wine Train. How do I make reservations and where is it located?

A: For the Wine Train, especially in the summer and fall, we highly recommend making reservations in advance. This can be done be calling them directly or you can contact our Concierge and she would be happy to make the reservation for you. They offer Brunch trains that depart around 11:00am and dinner trains that depart around 6:00pm. From the Napa River Inn, the Wine Train is only a 5 minute drive away. Our staff at the Napa River Inn would be happy to drive you to and from the train in our shuttle. We do ask that you give us at least a day notice that this service will be needed.

Q: Where are the best shopping areas in the Napa Valley?

A: Within walking distance from the Napa River Inn there are many wonderful boutique shops in downtown Napa. Along Main St., First St. and Second St., are where these shops can be found. The Napa Premium Outlets are located about a 10 minute drive away from the Napa River Inn. They have 50 wonderful shops, such as Ann Taylor, Tommy Hilfiger, J. Crew, Jones New York and more. In the town of Yountville, just about a 15 minute drive up valley is Vintage 1870, which is a large cluster of old fashion boutique shops and galleries. Farther upvalley, about a 35 minute drive are the St. Helena Premier Outlets, 8 premium stores.

Q: What is the difference between the 3 buildings on your property?

A: The 3 different buildings that we have on property are the Historic Building, the Embarcadero Building and the Plaza Building. All together consisting of 66 rooms total.

Within the 8 rooms in the Historic Building, you will find that these rooms have colorful area rugs lay over exposed white rock; maple tongue and groove plank flooring, originally a roller rink. Generous rooms with fireplaces, canopy beds, tufted lounge chairs and velvet ottomans, old fashioned slipper tubs and walk-in showers combine to make your stay full of the splendors of the Historic Napa Mill.

The Embarcadero Builiding has 26 rooms in total. These rooms portray a yacht cabin theme with cherry wood wainscoting coppered paneling, yellow wall coverings and furnishings, round porthole mirrors in carved-rope frames, graceful roman shades in each room, granite counters on the custom-crafted vanities add to the luxury of the marble-tiled bathrooms.

Within the 32 rooms in our Plaza Building you will find a wine country theme decorated with richly colored walls, oak moldings and spring patterned bedding. Marble counters on custom-crafted vanities add to the luxury of the marble-tiled bathrooms. The Plaza, the outside patio overlooking the Napa River, provides guests an area to dine, relax and enjoy cultural shows and events hosted by the Napa Mill.

Q: Is there a pool and workout facility on property?

A: We have a fitness room located in the plaza building that is available only to Napa River Inn guests. We do not have a pool on the property.
